The Flowering Homburg ebook is a fantasy about a young boy, Fletcher Whittaker, who gets lost on his father’s birthday. He finds himself at the ‘Random Hat Shop’, an abandoned store in a long-deserted part of town. Fletcher is welcomed by a benign and mysterious haberdasher named, Johannes Leewald.
Johannes suggests a magical hat, the Homburg, as a gift for his father. Fletcher gives the hat to his dad Walter, but he is skeptical the hat will flower. When, without explanation, it mysteriously does, Walter seizes on the opportunity to use the hat to try and get his job back at Burrows Industries, a the cut-throat, a world-wide, children’s novelty company, where he has recently been fired.
