Twenty rewrites of Magna Carta later and suddenly there was nothing left to ignore.
I was at peace with the results and I was finally willing to trust it, to trust myself.
You might be a writer like me, or someone with some other kind of talent trying to survive and succeed in this world. It’s a tall order.
The Quiet Voice urged me to invent, innovate, persevere, trust my instincts, and don’t think the pros necessarily know more than you do about the best path forward. They have valuable advice of course, but they aren’t you. They are not the creator.
With Magna Carta I realized that the uncomfortable feeling was a doorway to the future. The current state simply wasn’t good enough. Ignoring its guidance was only sabotaging my own potential.
The book Magna Carta brings King John and his contemporaries to life. It explores his missing motivations and unheralded skills and attempts to show the human and vulnerable side of this King. It creates a picture of a flawed, capable and somewhat sympathetic character and depict the forces at play during the time of the signing of the Magna Carta which were complex and fascinating.
Magna Carta and the story of King John’s reign is essentially a story of physical and psychological battle and mystery. The mystery of what really led to the demise of this King.
